Our Mission:
Maine Network for Health is an independent provider-owned service organization supporting practices, hospitals, purchasers and others providing high quality, efficient and affordable healthcare. MNH provides administrative, clinical, and quality support services through a strong team of professionals dedicated to superior cost-effective customer service.
Maine Network for Health is a service organization owned by local physicians and hospitals. We offer a broad base of services that support physicians and hospitals to deal with the rapidly changing demands of the health care industry.
Maine Network for Health was created about 12 years ago to help physicians and hospitals (who we call “providers”) deal with HMOs and managed care. At the core of our company is a collaborative “network” of 11 local hospitals and almost 800 physicians and other healthcare providers across eastern and northern Maine.
Today, Maine Network for Health has developed a wide range of services that support our “network” of providers. More specifically,
- We help providers with their business arrangements and contracts with insurance companies and HMOs;
- We assist providers with complex administrative processes, like the registration process called credentialing;
- We provide education and training for physician practices on quality improvement so they can address the concerns being raised about the quality of health care services in America today;
- We coordinate the care of our providers’ patients who have complex health care needs so that providers can assure the best possible outcomes for these patients.
As an independent organization (i.e. not under the control of any given health care, corporate or regulatory entity) MNH is positioned to coordinate the efforts of many constituencies in identifying inefficiencies and mediating problems between and among those who purchase, utilize, and deliver or arrange for health care services.
Costs:
- There is no cost to belong to Maine Network for Health. Individual Services may have accompanying charges.
